Using the System Repair Disk you can do the following With that disk, you can boot your laptop and run a system restore, which hopefully will restore you system back to its working state. Note: The OS version does not matter, but if your laptop is 64-bit, then you need to create the System Repair disk on another 64-bit Windows 7-10 system. You can do that in any system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 via the backup/recovery control panel app. I believe that the Y580 has a CD/DVD drive, so if you have another system, or can borrow another system for a few minutes, make yourself a Windows 7 "System Repair Disk".
